Update to Teacher’s Salary Scales

You will be aware that, in the Emergency Budget Statement on 22 June 2010, the Chancellor announced the coalition government’s commitment to honour the 2.3% uplift in teacher’s salaries from 1 September 2010.

The budget planning toolkit that was issued in February this year allowed for a 1% uplift in teacher’s salaries, as this was what was expected to be the maximum likely pay award at that time.

To ensure that budget provision for the period 1 September 2010 to 31 March 2013 is sufficient to cover the anticipated costs, it is necessary to issue a revised EFS data which will include the additional uplift required over the 3 years.

Please see the attached loading instructions to access the revised EFS data file.

Please note that there will be no additional funds in the budget shares, and schools will therefore need to plan to ensure they can balance the revised budgets within the resources available.
