Darren Vertigan, chair at Lodge Lane Infant School and a governor award winner is setting up a group of governors at Aviva in Norwich.

Here is what he said about it:

"In terms of Aviva, the company made an attempt to pull together a network a couple of years ago and if I'm being honest it didn't really get of the ground. However, myself and another chair in our school cluster who also works at Aviva have been talking about trying to start something up again. I think one of the main issues previously was that Aviva is UK wide and the group would have simply have been too large. My view would be to start with employees who work out of Norwich and are governors. We would be looking to provide a forum for governors to get together and debate the latest reforms and initiatives but also to discuss good practices as we can all learn from each other's experiences. If we can get something established it would also be good to potentially provide lunch and learn sessions inviting guest speakers."

Darren also wrote a brief piece on the governor awards ceremony for an Aviva newsletter and you can see that attached.

If you work at Aviva in Norwich and would like to join Darren's governor group, please contact him on his Aviva email address.
